I've had a weird day today. This morning i was exhausted, i didn't go to bed at a decent time even though i knew i had a 9am class. I just sat up thinking 'one more fanfiction, one more screen refresh, one more song' until it was 12:30pm and then i sat up longer reading my new book. I am living vicariously through 'the married life of a call girl'. Its certainly opening my eyes.
Anyway. I skipped my feminism seminar (don't tell anyone) and i walked in the rain to the bus station listening to my beloved Rufus, feeling all happy. It felt like everyone around me was all unhappy, sulking in black coats and i was happily lip-syncing with my jade coat and pink gloves. For once, i felt relatively confident instead of crippling self-conscious. This afternoon, i meant to do my women's studies coursework but i ended up watching Sex and the City for hours on youtube. Its kinda related....ish.

The Ones who Love us Never Leave us
Just watching the end of Harry Potter - Prisoner of Azkaban. I am being a big-brave girl and not crying, I usually start when Sirius asks Harry to live with him, then I feel sad when Lupin goes because I absolutely adore him. I am a manic fan of the books, I love fanfiction and I like the films very much even though i moan all the way through - about casting usually.
Anyway. I had a good day today, doing Eliot's The Waste Land in my Modernism class and I even liked my outfit. I realised, looking around my lecture theatre that I was pretty much the only person in colour. I was an Emerald Green wave amongst a sea of Navy and Black. Poetic huh? However this is navy and yet very cute:
Isn't this dress pretty?
Its from www.asos.com, a in-house designer dress. £60 though. Bloody Hell!
Also, thank-you so much to those who comment. It absolutely makes my day!

Primark - Spring
Primark must have got inside my head, i completely adore their 'spring collection'. Its so nautical and pretty. Love! I think, however, i will need to judge for myself as the model is absolutely tiny - look at her arms! - I will have to wait a while anyway, as the website says a March delivery.

Happily Ever After
Hi! I am cosy and comfy today. Listening to a Family Guy commentary - i am obsessed - and wearing my big University jumper. I don't think i've ever actually worn this jumper to uni, it feels too casual to wear and the lecture theatres get so incredibly hot. Tonight i am having dinner and a movie at a friend's house so i am excited about that, i haven't done any work at all lately. I don't know what it is, i just feel incredibly lazy, i just want to listen to music and read fanfiction all day. Does anyone else get like this?
I wanted to post the new, beautiful photos from the Disney Dreams campaign:Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony as Jasmine and Aladdin. Jessica Biel as Pocahontas. Giselle, Tina Fey and Mikhail Baryshnikov as Wendy, Tinkerbell and Peter Pan. Aren't they lovely? I still think the Cinderella one from last year is my favourite though, Scarlett looked so beautiful.

Wonderland
I would like to start my post by pointing manically at my newly-added-to Fashion Blog links, its taken me ages to update it. Please check them out, they are all wonderful. Also, if anyone would like to add me as a link on their site - i will be their best pal. I don't think i'm on many lists.
Anyway, i just saw an advert on tv for a BBC2 show called 'Wonderland: The man who eats badgers and the other people on Bodmin Moor'. In the advert the man was eating badger. Yes. Badger. This man finds roadkill and freezes, and then eats it. Lord. Its on at around 10pm so i am not sure if i want to watch it, i know i will get nightmares.
The show reminded me of a couple of years ago, when i dressed up, not as Roadkill but as my childhood favourite, Alice in Wonderland. I used to watch the movie about 3 times a day according to my Mum and a couple of years ago my friends got me the cuddly Disney doll version which is lovely. I am not posting the photo of me in the costume, because i look awful but i loved my look at the time. Ebay.co.uk has some cute costumes, but its a matter of sorting through the hoe-ish to the cute ideas: Links in the name:

Heath Ledger
I was very sad earlier to learn of the death of Heath Ledger. I saw a post on a forum and checked tmz.com and it seemed to be true so i ran downstairs and made Dad turn onto skynews. Its incredibly sad, especially knowing he had a little daughter, Matilda with his beautiful ex-fiancee Michelle Williams. Heath seemed to be a rising star, with Brokeback Mountain earning him much acting kudos and his new movie Batman being much looked forward too.I will always remember him in 10 things i hate about you, one of my favourite movies and i feel for his family and friends at this awful time.
Ladette or Lady?
My Modernism class was cancelled today! Yay! This meant i got to sleep in a little, until my Mum yanked me out of bed to go to Tesco. After having to return home to collect her credit card, and go back to the store i finally got to finish my gossip girl book, watch come dine with me and read my magazine. I should be reading James Joyce, but i don't want to.
Anyway, This Morning was on and they were showcasing ladylike fashion, the girl had on a pretty laura ashley dress so i sat down to listen. The girl was from the ITV show 'Ladette to Lady', a show that i have never watched but have heard of. The girl was saying how because of the show she quit her job as a Mechanic and is now working with hair extentsions and a promotions girl - she was applauded for this. This may be an unpopular view, but i was shocked by this, why should she be praised for being more 'ladylike' by turning to a job that i deem inconsequential, although i understand it has value. Anyway, i just felt that this girl was being swayed by 'experts' into a model of what a women should be, and was now being told she was 'right' and a good person. I may have little time for ladettes, but surely women have the choice to do whatever they want, without being told what to do - in their careers or their clothes.

My Everlasting Love for Rufus Wainwright
This is a post i have been thinking of doing for a long time, and i was trying to think of a fashion angle on it. But - i'm just going to come clean. I am completely in love with Rufus Wainwright's music - and i will take any opportunity to talk about it!
Hopefully some of my fellow addicts are smiling at this, and understanding it. I'm a member of his forum, and i adore talking about the meanings of the songs and talking to people who love it too. Last November i stumbled across 'Leaving for Paris' and i quietly sat, listened to it, repeated it and realised i was in love. I downloaded a huge amount of back material, played it all, fell in love some more and ordered Release the Stars. I sat down, with a snack, got the lyrics up and read along with the song. I have never done this before, i've always loved music but not in the same way as with Rufus. The only other album i have felt about in this way was Amy Winehouse. The songs are so immensely beautiful, in melody, tone, feeling - everything. Finding out more about him, his interesting family, thoughts and opinions has been fascinating and i cannot wait to see him live. I cannot recommend him highly enough; and with his current Brit nomination and album being pretty cheap on most sites do yourself a favour - and fall in love too!
So, if my ramblings wasn't enough to convince you. Guess what? He's pretty too:

Today, part. 2
This has been the sad scene from my life today. Since my post of this morning, my throat still hurts. My Mum sweetly brought me flowers. Here is my method of getting-well, Merocets: throat infection lozenges, Apple lipbalm, Chicken Soup for the Soul and a Gossip Girl Book. All these priceless objects are placed upon my cosy blue Ikea blanket. All i need is Jake Gyllenhaal to fetch me a diet coke and I would be just fine. Naturally, i would feign illness past recovery to keep him around.
Peacocks
You are lucky you are reading this, instead of hearing me. I have a sore throat so i am all croaky and grouchy. I am not a good person at being ill, I moan and moan and mope about with a cosy blanket around me. Being naturally a little prone to melancholy, i get down about all the things i am missing out on.
Todays post is on Peacocks, Primark's slightly more affluent friend. I regularly shop in Peacocks and i brought smart trousers, a dotty button dress, slouchy plaid shorts and a pink open-collar smart shirt the other day.
On their new website, they have just released their new spring collection. I think these are cute:
Black Chiffon: £10, Black patent trainer/pump: £12, Blazer: £20 and Pink Cardigan: £10

Enchanted and Cassie
Last night my sappy little heart was happy - i finally got to see Enchanted. I am currently listening to the soundtrack. I'm sure most of you have seen it by now, it was so beautiful. Amy Adams was perfectly cast. As part of today's post i am going to show some of her gorgeous costumes and because today i finally remembered to watch Skins on 4OD i am going to post some photos of my new favourite character - Cassie! I have had a really indulgent day, i have done absolutely no work at all today. I am going to suffer tomorrow but today i don't really care. I would post a photo of my outfit but its dreadful - sweatpants and a flannel shirt. Ooh, and James Marsden's photo is there at the end for obvious reasons.

Doris Day
This week channel 4 have been showing cute 1960's movies starring Doris Day. I have loved Doris Day since i saw Pillow Talk years ago, i also adored in her one of my favourite musicals, Calamity Jane. Although her movies are a lot formulaic the stories are darling and her gorgeous outfits and even more gorgeous husbands - usually Rock Hudson - make for a lovely afternoon.
Oooh, just noticed i've got over 1000 hits, and although i bet half of them are mine, i am thrilled!

Scarf Wall
I've always been someone who ignored fashion advice about 'changing accessories to suit trends' and i was telling my friend how i never buy accessories, she said 'but your scarf wall' and when i looked at her in bafflement she said 'you know, the wall of scarfs'. Believe me, i never realised the amount i had until i looked properly at the back of my door. I usually buy pretty scarfs to tie around my neck, then feel embarrassed and tie them onto my bag. My winter scarfs are usually rejected over my jade pashmina. Now, i bet you are incredibly excited to see my scarf wall.
Yep, that's a lot. Is it a lot? Maybe i will dig one out to wear to my Shakespeare class today. I could make one into a mourning veil, a la Olivia.

House Clothes and Sunny Attitudes
Gorgeous blogger lalaliu talked about fashion choices and confidence today on her blog, Art Geek and Fashion Freak.
Her positive attitude is a great reminder to be happy with who you are. I think i am getting better with my 'inner' confidence and my outer confidence is not the fault of Vogue or Elle - although they don't help me feel beautiful. Its more myself and looking at others, especially at a Uni with thousands of skinny supermodel types - its a sports uni primarily. Anyway, before i post some gorgeous clothes i wanted to thank her for her conscientious look at fashion, and at herself.
Today i have been fashionably dressed, wearing a rain jacket - yes a rain jacket - whilst i walked my dog with my dad and a blue tshirt with pj bottoms this afternoon. I have never been the polished girl, who looks wonderful from the minute they get up to the minute they go to sleep. I try to look good for Uni, then the minute i get home i changed into my comfy 'house' clothes. Is anyone else like this?!
So, to mimic my 'personal style' i am looking at comfy 'house' clothes!

My Bag!
I have been nosying around other people's bags this week. Relax, people who ride my bus. This week, all the fashion blogs i read have been teeming with mobile phones, notebooks and perfume, showing their gorgeous bag-contents to the world. I was sadly not tagged *Tear* but i still wanted to do it too! Here is my usual uni bag, its silver and i love it. I stuck a cute white and navy nautical scarf to it. I've got my baby, my pink ipod, cute french notebook, pens, mini diary, oyster card, phone, lipbalm and my two texts from my weekly reading list, Toni Morrison's Paradise and Simone De Beauvoir's The Women Destroyed.

Gorgeous Hair
I have always had shortish hair, usually shoulder length. When i was little i had a gorgeous little bob which i like to think was Suri Cruise for the 1990's. Although i quite like my hair at the moment, its past my shoulders and the longest its even been i am always on the look out for cute new styles - and NOT the silly layered bob thing EVERYONE has. Which girl do you like?
Rachel Bilson has gorgeous hair:
The ethereal, off-beat beauty that is Agyness Deyn and her cute crop:
And my personal favourite, Natalie Portman. What doesn't suit her?:
