Camera Obscura

I have a new camera!

Be prepared for proper photos. A part of me will miss the blurriness. Another, larger, bit of me is going 'LOOK AT THE ZOOM'. This weekend has gone to fast, on Saturday my friends came around for my belated 21st celebration. I wanted to do something low-key so we all had Italian food and the SATC movie. The camera was their present, I completely adore it. We also watched Super Sweet 16 and sat in horror at the hideous brats, whilst cheering their failure of a party.

Today I went for a walk, watched Strictly Come Dancing and I've now got X-Factor on . Cheryl just blew a raspberry down the phone at Simon. Louis is confused and believes he is going to win. Simon's finalists get to go Barbados. Woah.

Tomorrow I start classes again, I can't believe how it feels like its come too soon, when I haven't had a lecture since late March. I still haven't read the text for tomorrow, which is pretty shamefully lazy. I have been picking out a cute outfit though, and praying for cold weather so I can wear my new coat and gloves.

I am a bad person. LOOK at my tower of laundry.

A new wall collage.

My pals got me birthday balloons!

Waiting for my pals to show up.

Hello Dolly! (Birthdayness)

I am currently watching Russell Brand Live on Channel 4 and embarrassing myself by looking up with a stupid smile when he mentioned Matt. It was the sort of smile a coy Victorian heroine would smile, if she dropped her glove and a gentleman picked it up. I'm ashamed of myself.

Anyway. Yesterday was my birthday. I had my usual 'GOD I AM OLD' moment, which is kind of strange because I've always felt old, I never felt like a teenager. I like things old people like. I nearly got teary over a birthday thread on my darling forum, people were incredibly lovely and I had a 'they love me, they really love me' moment; like some mini Shirley Temple.

My family and I went out to eat, to Chiquita's where I watched as 12 small children tried in vain to smash the pinata. They eventually got angry and sought vengeance, running around and screaming for Fanta. A brave father got up and whacked it, spilling candy in the sky. I was very envious of these children. I ate my meal in jealous silence, occasionally offering an opinion on my brother's Boosh tour costume.

Today I spent some birthday money, got dresses, which I will post photos tomorrow. Here are some from yesterday:

My birthday balloon and rootin'-tootin' boots.

My chocolate birthdayness - now half-eaten

New gloves - cute huh?

Hello Dolly!
My darling brother, pulling unattractive faces to make me happy

He got scared this looked nazi-ist.

My cake!

You're my only hope

Birthday countdown - Minus 2 days. Is that right? it sounds wrong. I've never been into space travel, I think the stars are endlessly beautiful but the expense and value of going into space is completely lost on me.

Anyway. I had to go into University today and it was packed of Freshers. Everywhere I went I heard muttered awkward conversations, saw people peering at maps and they all stood at the wrong place for the bus, and blinked as it stopped 2 metres from their feet. They were also bewilderingly dressed-up, which I know from experience, is abandoned during the first week because I have always been the most dressed-up person in my classes - and that's only because I like colour, cardigans and tights. They will soon adopt the uniform of uggs and velour tracksuit bottoms. They wandered about, getting in my way and making me feel curiously young - they all look SO old. I also did a geeky trip to the library, murmuring words of love to my favourite place.

My Mama got me a student diary today, but it doesn't say the day of the week, just the date which is already irritating. My timetable came through yesterday, I'm only going to be in classes twice a week, only two modules this term.

My friends are getting me a camera for my birthday, so I will start doing proper photos - promise.

Cute buttons & bow stickers from paperchase.

I had a happy meal today. Yes, for children. The box suggested I take a straw and take the piece of cardboard from the box itself to make a lightsaber. What do you think?

My Princess Amidala pen. I have issues with Star Wars - anything before A New Hope.

My first book of the term. I didn't do my reading usual. On chapter 4 and its relentlessly dull. Anyone read it?

Ultimate in Comfort.

It's my birthday next week - don't pretend like y'all forgot - so my Papa took me out to get some presents that Mum will wrap up and we will all pretend I've never seen before. My birthday list, yes, at 20 my Mum still needs a list, had the usual DVDs, Boosh Live...Frasier...SATC...and Flight of the Conchords which I've wanted for months now.

I will then blow out candles on a cake I won't eat and probably return to my favourite position, on my bed watching Frasier. Occasionally rolling over to get a MAOAM or to flick on a Russell Brand podcast.

My anxiety is still kinda bad, it comes and goes in waves. I am trying to be positive though. It needs time and I'm finding that hard to accept.

My new boots. I fondly look over at them every 20 minutes. I hope they like me

Yes! THE ULTIMATE in comfort.

New coat, it looks plain but its fitted and classically smart. I have stuck a pearl bow broach to it.

Worlds Smallest Violin

*gets out tiny violin*

Last week was the hardest week of my life. I don't want to get too personal, but it was. But hopefully its all over now. It felt years long. I took some photos today:

Mama got me flowers.

I got a cutesy-print long-sleeved tshirt

Shiny-shiny, patent bags.

Comfy, grey, cosy.

My daily attire.
Beautiful sunsets.

I don't get

Everyone's insane crushes on Johnny Depp. Just saw these new photos, but they left me cold.

What about you?
